Azores

Are you ready to go on one of the best adventures you will ever experience. Dolphins and whales frolicking in the sea or volcanic landscapes covered in green, lilac-colored hydrangeas that provide hedges for the meadows, the blue and green lakes, the craters of extinct volcanoes and the steam rising from the land are some of the stuff you can see here. Inland you can go mountain climbing, or you can stick to the coast and go diving and swimming. You can basically do anything you want here.

The Archipelago of the Azores is composed of nine volcanic islands and an islet cluster, which are in 3 main groups, situated in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, and is located about 1,500 km west from Lisbon and about 3,900 km east from the east coast of North America. These islands are Flores and Corvo, to the west; Graciosa, Terceira, São Jorge, Pico and Faial in the center; and São Miguel, Santa Maria and the Formigas Reef to the east. The Azores have some of the tallest mountains on the planet, measured from their base at the bottom of the ocean to their peaks, which thrust high above the surface of the Atlantic.
